Wood Sources

My "stash" of lumber comes from numerous sources. Some of it I`ve had for close to 40 years! Most of it I`ve bought from lumber importers and distributors. I`ve dealt with these people for a very long time. I`ve been assured that the lumber used to build my guitars comes from farmed (plantation) sources. Since there is no reliable way to confirm this claim, I can only hope that it is true. The ongoing destruction of timber resources in the world`s rainforests is the unnecessary and tragic result of greed. The good news is that the farming of numerous exotic and endangered tree species has been a very important source of sustainable forest products in many areas of the world since the 1940`s.
